Description
Sure Grip is one of North America’s most-installed hand control brands, and for good reason: solid engineering, a full range of control styles, and strong vehicle coverage. Also, when a Tyler or Waco driver needs dependable hand controls without exotic requirements, Sure Grip is usually where we start.
Common questions
How long does installation take? It varies by vehicle and control type — but it happens at our shop, by our installers, and we will quote the timeline when we see the vehicle. Moreover, Reach us at (903) 592-6760 or in Waco at (254) 829-6044.
Do veterans get help with this? Adaptive driving equipment is a place the VA often assists — we are VA-approved and can help you pursue it.
The SURE GRIP hand controls system was designed for one clear goal: driving with both hands on the wheel. In addition, this creates a significantly safer, smoother driving experience for those with mobility challenges.

To operate simply push towards the dash for brake and rock towards the ground for acceleration. Also, the original and the best, the Sure Grip Push/Rock system, has become known for its comfort, precision and overall safety.
Choose Your Throttle Source – Press the FeatherLite button to switch between the factory pedal and your hand controls.
No More Gas Rod – Electronic acceleration means nothing has to press the gas pedal. Consequently, there is no gas rod at all. Moreover, this leads to a noticeable increase in leg room and cleaner installations.
Smooth, Easy Throttle – FeatherLite gives you direct access to your vehicle’s throttle system. The result is the most responsive throttle on the market.
Keep Two Hands On The Wheel – The Push/Rock style has one great advantage. It keeps both hands in contact with the steering wheel while you drive.
Easy Access to Secondary Controls – The Push/Rock also keeps your hands close to the secondary controls. For example: turn signals, wipers, wash, and dimmer.

The Sure Grip Push Right/Angle hand control uses a short stroke design for acceleration. The hand controls the main body, and brake rod, are stationary when the accelerator is applied. The pivot point sits on the left-hand side of the wheel. Meanwhile, only the handle moves. The stationary main body and brake rod improve leg and lap room. In addition, they need fewer dash changes at install and give a much smoother drive.
Increased leg and lap room
The Sure Grip short stroke design means that only the handle of the control moves while applying throttle. This guarantees you can achieve full acceleration without the control impeding the driver’s lap.
Greater two-handed contact with the steering wheel
The handle’s stroke is short. Because of this, your hand stays near the steering wheel, and two-hand driving stays easy.
Lock-Out Feature
All Sure Grip’s traditional hand controls come standard with a lockout mechanism. The lockout is an added safety feature for the driver or those that share the vehicle. By simply sliding a lever, the accelerator function of the hand control can be disabled. This helps prevent accidents through misuse of the control by mechanics, valets or any other unqualified user.
Limited modifications to the vehicle’s dash
On the Push Right Angle control, the brake rod stays still during acceleration. As a result, installation needs fewer dash changes.
Beyond the stationary main body, drivers appreciate the Push Right/Angle’s other strengths. For example: superior pedal feel, constant acceleration with no “dead spots”, and lower fatigue while driving

To operate simply push towards the dash for brake and pull directly back towards you for acceleration. The Sure Grip Push/Pull hand control uses the same movement to apply the gas and brake as other Push/Pull controls. However, the Sure Grip pivot point sits on the right-hand side, near the handle. This allows a shorter stroke and greater leverage.
In addition to the pivot point, the handle’s position is at a slight angle. An angle that makes a big difference to the driver. The benefits of Sure Grip’s unique Push/Pull hand control design include:
- Also, Less strain on the fingers.
- Plus, Flexible hand positions for lower fatigue and cramping while driving.
- Likewise, Ability for both hands to keep contact with the steering wheel.

This is a motorcycle style hand control that you push to brake and twist like a motorbike throttle for acceleration.
THROTTLE CHOICE
Easily switch from the factory pedal to your hand controls by pressing the Featherlite activation button.
MOTORCYCLE FEEL
Featherlite gives you direct access to the vehicle’s throttle. The result is the responsiveness you cannot achieve with traditional hand controls.
INCREASED LEGROOM
Electronic acceleration eliminates the need to physically depress the gas pedal and the need for a gas rod at all. This creates a noticeable increase in legroom and a cleaner installation.
